Sweet Poori


Poori is an unleavened deep-fried Indian bread, commonly consumed on theIndian subcontinent. It is eaten for breakfast or as asnack or light meal.Today’s Sweet poori is a sweet flaky crispy sweet version of our known poori. I am sharing with you one most easy way of making this sweet poori. I am sure you all will love it. This year I made sweet pooris for Krishna Jamashtami. I am sure little Kanhaji liked them a lot.


Preparation time : 15 minutes
Cooking time : 15 minutes
Serves  : 6 to 8 

Ingredients : 
1 cup sooji / semolina 
1 tbsp rice flour 
2 tbsp maida/ flour 
1 tsp ghee 
½  tsp cardamom powder
1 tsp saffron water/ a pinch of food grade yellow color
a pinch of salt 
Oil / ghee for deep frying
3 tbsp  sugar powder


Methods of Cooking :
 Take semolina, rice flour, maida , salt and ghee. Mix well. Then add little water and make a soft dough. Make small balls with the dough . Now roll the small ball in to small pooris. Prick the pooris with tooth pick. Heat oil / ghee in a deep bottom pan. Deep fry the pooris. Place them in kitchen papper so that excess oil is well soaked . Serve immediately or let them come into room temperature. Then store them in air tight container. Sprinkle sugar powder and serve.Enjoy crispy and delicious sweet poori.
